Typography Project

Image result for different fonts typography ads
This ad is a great example of something that uses different typography. This ad is very well done and is found at https://filtergrade.com/24-great-fonts-for-posters/.
In this ad there is two different types of typography, Underlined in red is San Serif while underlined in blue is Script.

You can tell the letters underlined in red are San Serif because they don’t have little lines at the end of each letter. The I is straight up and down for example that proves that there is no serifs.

You can tell the letters underlined in blue are script because they are very fancy and more focused on making them look good than how it reads. The G for example has a little line that goes around the word to make it look better. At the same time this looks cool but makes it harder to read.

These two element make this typography because while it is easy to read. If Script was the title font it would be very hard to read. That is why San Serif is the title while the script is the sub line.

These elements in this pictures can help you make better designs because it shows that fonts on a document matters. There is a reason they put San Serif as the title and script as the sub line because it is easier to read.

Color Meanings

In this ad they used lots of different colors to describe the emotion in this. I think using lots of bright colors did make the ad pop more and look more exciting. The colors used in this helps make it seem happy and fun while the background seems calm and relaxing. I think the overall dullness of the ad could go away when looking at this ad it almost looks old. In the ad it also has lots of contrast and repetition. It could work on proximity of the words but the alignment is done very well.

Illustrator

This is my Street signs assignment I learned how to use the shape tools, color bucket and text tool. The principles illustrated are proximity from each other, alignment to the center of the page, and contrast in color. I could definitely improve by adding better contrast in color and adding the pole on the bottom of the signs.

This is my batman assignment in this assignment I used the shape tool as well as the pathfinder tools to merge and unite the shapes. The principles used in this were alignment with the shapes and proximity on how far away the shapes were. I could improve batman by adding a bigger less square body as well as using the color gradient to add more real colors.
This is my robot assignment I used the shape tool and color gradient tools to make this. The principles used were contrast with colors and repetition with the lines. The color gradient in this assignment could use some improving I didn’t quite know how to use it when making it.
This is my pen tool assignment in this I used the pen tool t o create lots of different shapes. I used the alignment and proximity tool to create space between my lines. I could improve on making curves in my lines to make them more exact.
This is my vector letters assignment I used the pen tool and color paint bucket to make it. The principles of design I used were proximity and contrast for the colors. I could improve this by adding gradient colors to make it look better.
This is my character trace assignment I used the pen tool as well as the brush tool to create this. For principles of design I used repetition on the colors and alignment for my lines. I could improve on making my brush more exact so I can color in between the lines.
This is a picture of me I used the pen tool as well as the color bucket. For principles of design I used alignment to align my lines to my face in the image.
This is my color gradient assignment. In this assignment I learned to use the color gradient tool to make the colors really pop. For principles of design I used repetition and contrast to really make the colors look good with the background.

About Me

I am Dax McPartland I am 16 and go to Northridge high school. This blog post is about my digital media design and things I create in this class. Some things about me I am 16 I was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Utah when I was 2. I think Utah is a very fun place to live and is far more interesting than Pennsylvania.

In digital media design class we are learning about different programs in adobe. Before this class I have had no experience with adobe products, but with this class I will be able to do a lot in adobe. This class will be very helpful in the future because I want to major in computer science at the University of Utah. This class will be a lot of fun.
